Apex Community Carers is proudly registered to deliver Specialist Substitute Residential Care (SSRC) under the NSW Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998. Our focus is on providing a nurturing, structured environment for children and young people who require short-term residential care in times of crisis, instability, or transition.
We provide care for children and young people aged 0–17 years who may be:
Involved with the child protection system
Transitioning from family breakdown, homelessness, or crisis
In need of short-term care under SSRC arrangements
Living with emotional, behavioural, or cognitive challenges

Short-term residential care in home-like settings
24/7 trained staff with trauma-informed practice
Consistent routines and individualised support
Coordination with caseworkers and care teams
Support for daily living, schooling, and emotional regulation
Culturally safe practices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children
Our SSRC placements focus on stability, relationship-based support, and emotional healing. We work closely with key stakeholders — including DCJ, caseworkers, and health professionals — to provide care that meets each young person’s unique needs.
